Learning the Welsh Pronouns displayed below is vital to the language. Welsh pronouns include personal pronouns (refer to the persons speaking, the persons spoken to, or the persons or things spoken about), indefinite pronouns, relative pronouns (connect parts of sentences) and reciprocal or reflexive pronouns (in which the object of a verb is being acted on by verb's subject).
In English personal pronouns are (I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they), and (me, you, him, her, it, us, you, them), In Welsh, the personal pronouns are:
(fi (i), ti (di), e (fe), hi, ni, chi, nhw) and (fi, ti, e/fe, hi, ni, chi, nhw).
Indirect Object Pronouns:
These do not exist in Welsh.
Possessive Pronouns:
The traditional forms (eiddof, eiddot, eiddo, eiddi, eiddom, eiddoch, eiddynt) are now obsolete, although ‘eiddo’ is used to mean ‘property’. One has to convey the meaning ‘mine’ in another way. For example to say ‘The car is mine’ you could say ‘Mae’r car yn eiddo ifi’. To say ‘The car is theirs’ you could say ‘Mae’r car yn eiddo iddyn nhw). To say ‘The car is John’s’ you could say ‘Mae’r car yn eiddo i John’.
