Learning the Uzbek Plural is very important because its structure is used in every day conversation. The more you master it the more you get closer to mastering the Uzbek language. But first we need to know what the role of Plural is in the structure of the grammar in Uzbek.
Uzbek Plurals are grammatical numbers, typically referring to more than one of the referent in the real world. In the English language, singular and plural are the only grammatical numbers.
While in English, the plural is formed by adding (s) to the singular, in Uzbek, to form the plural of nouns only (in Uzbek adjectives have no plural) we add (-lar) to them. Here are some examples:
Do’st (a friend) becomes: Do’stlar (some friends)
Ayyol (a woman) becomes: Ayyollar (some women)
Bu mening qizil moshina (this is my red car) becomes: Bu mening qizil moshinalar (these are my red cars)
