Malagasy negation is the process that turns an affirmative statement (I am happy) into its opposite denial (I am not happy).
In Malagasy, negation can be made simply by placing "Tsy" before the main verb. But sometimes a double negative is required. "Tsia" is the most common negative.
Tsy afaka manao an’ity aho (I can't do this).
Tsy manan-katao izy ireo (they don't have anything to do – Double Negative).
Tsy tiako ity (I don't like it)
