Learning the Lithuanian Adverbs displayed below is vital to the language. Lithuanian adverbs are part of speech. Generally they're words that modify any part of language other than a noun. Adverbs can modify verbs, adjectives (including numbers), clauses, sentences and other adverbs.
While in English adverbs are usually formed by adding (-ly) to adjectives. In Lithuanian many adverbs can be formed from adjectives, but also from nouns, pronouns and numerals.
1. Forming from adjectives adding suffixes –(i)ai, -yn, -(i)uoju:
gražus (beautiful) – gražiai (beautifully), gražyn (making more beautifully), gražiuoju (doing in kind manner).
2. Forming from nouns, adjectives and nummerals adding prefix pa- and suffix –(i)ui:
eilė (line) – paeiliui (one after other, in the line); pavieniui (singly, individually).
3. There are other suffixes to form adverbs.
