Chinese Pronouns

Learning the Chinese Pronouns displayed below is vital to the language. Chinese pronouns include personal pronouns (refer to the persons speaking, the persons spoken to, or the persons or things spoken about), indefinite pronouns, relative pronouns (connect parts of sentences) and reciprocal or reflexive pronouns (in which the object of a verb is being acted on by verb's subject).

Grammar Tips:

In English personal pronouns are (I, you, he, she, it, we, you), and (me, you, him, her, it, us, you), In Mandarin, the personal pronouns are: wo (I and me), ni (you in all forms, similar to the English you) and ta (he, she, her, him, and it). As stated above, plurals are made by adding the ending men.

Indirect Object Pronouns:

There is no special form for indirect pronouns.

Possessive Pronouns:

In Chinese, to form the possessive of pronouns or of any word, the word is followed the character de.  Wo de (mine), ta de (his, hers, it’s), and ma de (horse’s)
